James has been instrumental in making sure I return to play as soon as possible, being a professional netball athlete my feet are hugely important. James was able to diagnose various issues with my feet, and clearly explain how these could be modified with the orthotics he would mould for me. He went above and beyond to provide the best service possible and I am eternally grateful.

I use physio4life on two counts - James is a brilliant physiotherapist, knowledgeable, skilful (and humorous); and Dan runs an older persons' circuit training exercise class - great fun, and as accessible or challenging as you want to make it

Physio4life have helped me with running injuries, pregnancy related issues and training related injuries post baby. I have seen a few of their physiotherapists over the years and all have been incredibly knowledgeable and effective at getting me back to fighting fit. I would recommend their service to anyone needing physiotherapy or sports massage.

I have to give massive thanks to James McCormack at Physio4Life. On a training run two weeks before the 2016 New York City Marathon (my first ever marathon!) I had severe pain in my knee, later diagnosed as Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITBS). I initially thought I wasn't going to be able to compete and all the months of training had been for nothing. But on the 6th November 2016, through James' help, I managed to finish the marathon! I can't thank James and Physio4Life enough. I'll certainly be back to attend their running clinic before my next running event!

I saw Hugo shortly after running the last 20 miles of the London Marathon with a rather damaged Achilles' tendon. Over the following weeks his expert hands and understanding eliminated the inflammation and cured the problem. It was a classic case of some pain but plenty of gain. I've just got back from the European Long distance triathlon championships in Poland, and am pleased to report that on its first test, the Achilles held up perfectly over the marathon distance without a hint of a problem.

I cannot recommend physio4life and its staff enough. I have been treated by Victoria for both Achilles problems and a dislocated shoulder and she is an excellent physio - she is very professional, knowledgeable and is able to explain the treatment and exercises she prescribes to a layman like me! On a personal level, she is lovely. The reception staff are also very helpful and accommodating - Victoria is in very high demand but they always manage to find an appointment early morning or in the evening to fit in with work.

I play competitive rugby and run recreationally and had been struggling with my lower back and hamstrings for 6 months. Faye at Physio 4 Life has been amazing and has sorted these issues out over several sessions. She has been professional, friendly and most importantly, effective - I can't recommend her enough!

After several months with a sore knee I went to Physio4Life along with my son who is an up and coming tennis player training up to 4 hours a day. We were fully assessed and several biomechanical issues were spotted with our feet and orthotics ordered. They arrived quickly and were more comfortable than I had ever had. The first thing I noticed was how much better I was moving around the court. They have been a great success for both of us and importantly my knee pain has gone. You won’t see me playing at Wimbledon without them.

I have been using Physio for life for 2 years now. Dans boot camps have been fantastic for helping get back (and stay) in shape after babies. I have recently had cause to seek Physio for a sore knee from a skiing accident - Jade has been amazing in assisting with a speedy recovery. To compliment the physio I had a sports massage today with Marni which was amazing. She loosened off all my stiff muscles and I left feeling fantastic. Thanks Physio for Life to keeping me in tip top condition.

How to find us

What can prescription orthotics do for you?

By aligning your feet correctly, prescription orthotics reduce the stress on the body caused by running, walking or even just standing for long periods of time. Muscles, ligaments and bones are all subject to the shock of impact when you exercise, and an imbalance in your gait can quickly cause wear and tear if you are an active person. Addressing alignment issues can help to keep your body in better shape, leaving you more comfortable when moving about and more confident in your body’s ability to withstand a tough exercise regime. Orthotics can even make the transfer of energy through your feet more efficiently when running or cycling, helping you to optimise your performance.

If you suffer from bunions, hammer toes, arch pain, heel pain or regular localised foot pain then get in touch and we can give you advice on how orthotics could be helping you, too.

Will any insoles do?

No. Most generic insoles bought in shops are made of polypropylene, which can flatten out under constant pressure and become ineffective very quickly. Shop-bought insoles aren’t shaped to fit your individual feet and this can actually make gait problem worse and leave you prone to injury. While sports shops now regularly offer gait analysis in helping customers choose running shoe or cross trainer, they are not able to offer the accuracy of testing or the personalised prescription you need to ensure the perfect fit.
