I wanted to share a good article I have just read. https://medium.com/matter/waking-up-is-hard-to-do-c720dc9617a8

Are you the type of person who finds it difficult to get out of bed?
Do you hit the snooze button several times?

If sleep is not up to scratch our performance in the day suffers. Poor sleep tends to lead to reaching for rubbish food that will make us fat.

The article outlines several methods to help improve sleep quality so that you bounce into the day rather than spend the first hour of your waking day still half asleep. For parents who have little children, things are definitely tougher, but maybe some of these points may help.

It is clear that if we have quality sleep we are more likely to make the right food choices, and have more energy to train effectively.

Develop a consistent routine. Get at least 7 hours asleep. If you have to get up at 6am for work, go to bed at 10/11pm.
Find the right alarm. For me, i cannot take the ‘beep beep’ sound of a digital alarm. I’m more of a fan of being woken up by a radio.
Get you buzz on. Those who like a coffee or builders tea. Crack on with it! Don’t have too much. 1-2 cups is fine

Eat.
R.I.S.E. U.P. method.

Refrain from snoozing

Increase activity for the first hour

Shower or wash face

Expose yourself to sunlight or house lights

Upbeat music (and a strobelight!!!)

Phone a friend

You could do this in one hit. install a music system with disco lights in you bathroom. Then, as soon as you alarm goes off you get into the bathroom, shower on, music blaring with lights. Sound good?

Have a special weekend. Be good, safe and active!!!!

Happy Health
